The U.S. Supreme Court just sided with pesticide manufacturer Bayer over people harmed by glyphosate, in a ruling that makes it much harder to hold pesticide companies accountable for the harms caused by their products.
If the courts won’t hold pesticide companies accountable, California must!

Other states and nations are already taking strong actions to protect their populations from highly hazardous pesticides. It’s time California stepped up. California should be leading the nation in protecting farmworkers, families, and our environment—not falling behind.
I’m asking [the Assemblymember or Senator] to:
- Please support AB 1603 NOW to stop new PFAS pesticides from entering California. Halting the inflow of new PFAS pesticides into California is the least we can do to start protecting Californians from these “forever chemicals” used on food crops, lawns, homes, and landscapes that can end up in our food, water, soil, and environment.
- Please attend the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) Oversight Hearing on August 11, 1:30-3:30pm, 1021 O Street, Room 1100. You’ll learn how the California Department of Pesticide Regulation repeatedly fails to protect Californians from hazardous pesticides, such as PFAS pesticides, organophosphates, fumigants, paraquat and others. You’ll hear how those repeated failures have harmed children’s and communities’ health and why we need major reform of California’s pesticide regulatory system.”
