Modifications to the Department of Pesticide Regulation’s new rule regarding pesticide use near schools have just been released – and they make the regulation weaker, not stronger. Gone is the 48-hour notification to schools when pesticides are in use within a quarter mile. Still missing is any real protection from chronic exposure, – such as a full-time one-mile buffer.Still unregulated is the impact from commonly used pesticide cocktails – instead, DPR continues to regulate them individually, ignoring any cumulative impact.

This is not good enough. Please sign our petition and let DPR know!
